Large stash of THC oil seized during Mount Carmel traffic stop – Kingsport Times News

THC is the principal psychoactive constituent of marijuana, which causes the “high” for users.

The arrest occurred around 7 p.m. after Mount Carmel Police Department Lt. Ken Lunsford Sr. clocked an eastbound Honda driven by Cory Marshall Hill traveling 56 mph in a 45 mph construction zone on Highway 11-W.

Hill, 20, 4823 Silver Court, reportedly didn’t have his driver’s license in his possession, but a computer check revealed that he did have a valid license.

A computer check also revealed, however, that Hill had a pending felony warrant out of Sullivan County.

Hill was arrested and his vehicle searched.

Lunsford allegedly located $1,580 in cash in a backpack inside the vehicle.

In the trunk, Lunsford located a camouflage gym bag, which allegedly contained several mason jars.

Two of those jars reportedly contained 50 grams each of marijuana wrapped in a white cloth.

Three quart-size jars contained a greenish yellow substance believed to be high potency THC oil.

The gym bag also reportedly contained multiple smaller commercially manufactured vials of THC oil including 21 vials marked “Springfield Farms” (after the TV show “The Simpsons”) and marked a 90 percent THC; four small vials marked “Zkittle” 1.1 gram Dank Vape 93.11 percent THC; and one small vial labeled “Jack Herer” 1.1 gram Dank Vape 96.12 percent THC.

The gym bag also allegedly contained five packs of White Owl commercially packaged marijuana, three large plastic bags used for vacuum sealing which each contained a small amount of marijuana, a vacuum sealer machine, a box of zip-lock sandwich baggies, a scale and a cell phone.

Hill was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, failure to carry a driver’s license and no insurance.

He was released from the Hawkins County Jail on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on May 29.
