The Firefly 2+ Might Be The Cannabis Vaporizer Of Your Dreams – Forbes

Firefly 2+

Slang, the company behind the Firefly vaporizer, now has a new version on the market: the Firefly 2+.

“As a leader in premium portable vaporizers, Firefly stands out for its technical innovation and unparalleled design,” Slang co-founder and CEO Peter Miller said in a prepared statement. “Slang is thrilled to help more customers around the world discover the Firefly 2+ and enjoy new Firefly products to come.”

A follow-up to the company’s original vaporizer, the Firefly 2+ is capable of burning both dry herb and extracts. Its accompanying app allows you to customize your vaping experience by allowing you to adjust the temperature your herb or extract is burned at. Temperature options range from 22-500 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Firefly 2+ builds on what the company had already made available with the Firefly 2.

The new device adds a new airflow system as well as a new long-lasting battery, as well as a number of other useful new features including:

  • New patented heating technology – Dynamic Convection – moves smoothly up the temperature scale each pull

  • Body of the device is crafted from the same high-grade alloys used on NASA spaceships

  • The borosilicate glass bowl and vapor path help deliver pure flavor

  • Easy to load and easy to clean

Slang is particularly proud of the device’s new dynamic convection allows the compounds within the plant or concentrate material to vaporize at the correct temperature within each draw.

“The Firefly team invents simple elegant vaporizers for truly great cannabis experiences, and our newest Firefly 2+ will help connoisseurs and new consumers alike do just that,” Firefly co-founder and Chief Technology Officer MJ Williams said in a prepared statement.

That temperature control feature, in particular, is something that can come in handy, especially for experienced smokers, and is something found on a few other cannabis vapes as well.

PAX’s Era, for instance, is capable of burning oil between 430 degrees and 790 degrees Fahrenheit.

The temperature you want to burn at will depend a bit on the strain you’re burning as well as your personal preferences. In general, vaping at a lower temperature will give you more flavor, allowing you to taste more of the flavors of the cannabis, while vaping at a higher temperature will produce more vapor and a more intense high.

If you haven’t used a cannabis vaporizer with temperature control before, a good rule of thumb is to start burning at a low temperature, see how it goes, and then gradually dial things up until you find your ideal setting.

If you kine what you see with the Firefly 2+, the vaporizer is available for purchase online as well as through retail stores starting today for $249.
