Manitowoc police arrest woman on suspicion of felony possession of THC – Herald Times Reporter

MANITOWOC – A 35-year-old Manitowoc woman was arrested Thursday night after she was found in possession of marijuana and about $1,200 in cash, a police report said.

The report said police pulled over the woman, Leola J. Williams, at around 9:23 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Dewey Street after an officer noticed her vehicle did not have taillights or headlights on. The officer “could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” the report said, and a bud of marijuana was found in the center console of the vehicle.

The report said when an officer asked Williams why she had such a large amount of cash in her purse, about $1,200, “she just laughed.” She was also found to have a plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance in the front of her pants, according to the report. The substance weighed 13.4 grams and tested positive for THC. A digital scale was also found in the back seat of her vehicle, according to the report.

Williams was arrested on suspicion of one felony count of possession of THC, second offense, and was listed as an inmate at Manitowoc County Jail Friday morning.
