CBD shop opens in downtown Saratoga – Times Union

SARATOGA SPRINGS — A store devoted exclusively to CBD products has opened in downtown Saratoga Springs.

Saratoga CBD Wellness opened last month in the Saratoga Marketplace, a venue on Broadway that houses more than a dozen shops and eateries. It specializes in high-quality, third-party tested CBD products ranging from oils, gel caps, edibles, balms, creams, massage oils, hair and body care products, and pet products.

Co-owner Stephen Cutting-Miller says the store opened to help provide residents and visitors with accurate information about cannabidiol (CBD), an extract of the hemp plant that reputedly helps with pain, anxiety, insomnia and inflammation, among other ills.

„Our clients’ biggest issues are the lack of professional information and consultation available about CBD and the difficulty in knowing what brands and products meet the industry’s highest standard for certification, purity and quality,” said Cutting-Miller, who is also a wealth adviser for Bouchey Financial Group in Saratoga Springs.

„Our job is to pull back the curtain and help clients make informed and educated choices about their health and wellness,” he added.

Saratoga CBD Wellness carries the following brands: Bluebird Botanicals, CBD Living, Lucent Botanicals, Craft 1861, CV Sciences, HempMeds, MedTerra, Pet Releaf, Select CBD, and Glow Water.

It’s one of a handful of CBD-exclusive stores to open in the Capital Region in recent months as entrepreneurs look to cash in on the extract’s ever-increasing popularity.

Once a little-known wellness product, the federal legalization of hemp production in 2018 helped push the product into the mainstream. Regulation has yet to catch up, though New York lawmakers last month passed legislation that would regulate CBD products for testing, transparency and safety.
