Man involved in Kingsville crash arrested for bags of marijuana, THC – Corpus Christi Caller-Times

A 32-year-old man learned the hard way that THC oil, unlike CBD oil, is illegal. 

Kingsville police officers discovered the illegal substances Monday afternoon when they responded to a crash in the 1200 block of East Caesar Avenue, according to a news release. 

No injuries were reported. 

Officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the 32-year-old man’s vehicle and conducted a search, the release states. 

The search led to the discovery of THC oil, THC wax and bags of marijuana, the release states. 

Police took Anthony J. Boccardi into custody on suspicion of driving while license invalid/suspended with previous convictions, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, the release states. 

„Boccardi claimed that the THC oil was legal because it was CBD oil, which it is not,” the release reads. „KPD reminds the public that CBD oil may have therapeutic and health benefits but that THC oil is still illegal in Texas.”

Police cited Boccardi for causing the crash and his vehicle was impounded, the release states. 

Boccardi was taken to the Kleberg County Jail. His bond was not set Tuesday afternoon.
