Report Shows Men Prefer Cannabis Strains That Are High In THC – Candid Chronicle

Big data and technology company RYAH Medtech, Inc. (RYAH) has today released a data analytics report on men and their use of medical cannabis.

Using survey data collected from 35,069 men over a 22-month period, RYAH found that men comprise approximately 55 percent of the medical cannabis patient population, prefer strains that are high in delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and generally have higher levels of previous cannabis experience than females.

In October, RYAH released a report on perspectives of the female patient which revealed that women prefer strains that are high in non-psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD).

“Understanding each gender’s relationship with medical cannabis is critical for refining treatments and increasing successful patient outcomes,” says RYAH CEO Gregory Wagner. “We were surprised to see that over 77.9% of males surveyed were using medical cannabis for treatment on a daily basis and many of them had previously used cannabis for medical or recreational purposes.”

Wagner says that since male patients’ preferences differ significantly from those of the average female patient, RYAH is hopeful that medical providers and researchers will be inspired to further study medical cannabis treatments that are personalized to achieve effective patient outcomes.

According to RYAH’s report, the top ten medical conditions that men use cannabis to treat are anxiety, stress, depression, pain, insomnia, ADHD, mood swings, headaches, fatigue, and social anxiety.

Nine out of the ten conditions listed are related to mental health.

The report shows that men prefer smoking or vaporization over other consumption methods and like to use strains that are either high in THC or have a balanced mixture of THC and CBD.

For specific conditions, the report shows that men find relief for symptoms of ADHD by using AC/DC, Super Lemon Haze, Sour Tsunami, and Purple Candy.

For treating PTSD, men indicated a preference for Gorilla Glue, 3 Kings Banana Kush, and Blueberry Cheesecake.
