Your CBD Store, located in downtown Mint Hill, offers award-winning, research-backed Sunmed CBD products. “Anybody can bottle it and print a label and stick it on there and sell it,” says Charlie Wiley, who opened in September. “They can make claims on the label that aren’t actually in the product. What our bottle says is what our bottle contains.”
Founded only two years ago, Your CBD Store has quickly grown into the largest brick and mortar CBD retailer in the country with close to 500 stores nationwide. Thanks to their high quality product, Your CBD Store recently beat out some of the biggest and best names in the industry at the 2019 CBD Expo in Miami to win Best Oil Tincture and Best Topical Relief Cream.

Although not regulated by the FDA, CBD is a natural alternative to synthetic medication. Unlike many medicines, it is not addictive and doesn’t cause intestinal or liver damage. Your CBD Store aims to provide consumers with an elite CBD product as well as to cultivate an informed consumer who demands transparency and high-quality products.
Wiley sees Your CBD Store as a welcoming and comforting environment, different from many CBD retailers. “It’s not the typical place that people think of,” says Wiley, contrasting his store to “wannabe dispensaries” blasting reggae music and displaying marijuana posters. “We try to stand out from those stores. We want people to feel safe coming here.”
A bit of a jack of all trades who has worked in every industry from food service to lawn care to construction, Wiley became interested in CBD when his wife used it for migraines. Wiley began looking into it and was fascinated to learn that CBD is a natural, hemp-derived product, a plant that is related to but chemically different from marijuana. Most notably, hemp has less than 0.3% THC, the cannabinoid responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana.
As Wiley continued his research, he found himself intrigued by how much people claimed CBD could do for them. He found himself spending more and more of his spare time reading about CBD and even talking it up to his coworkers at his commercial roofing job. When he connected with someone on Facebook looking for people to open stores for the largest CBD retailer in the country, Wiley jumped at the chance to turn his newfound hobby into a career.
Wiley considered locations in Pineville, Matthews and Waxhaw, where he currently lives, but it was kismet that he wound up right next to Carolina Creamery, a place he has fond memories of visiting with his mom and brother. “I was born here, and I’ve always considered it a home to me,” says Wiley. “I wanted to be one of the first CBD stores in Mint Hill.”
