Cbd hemp oil

Good Housekeeping

CBD from the cannabis or hemp plant continues to trend as a beauty ingredient with new products being launched every week, but what’s the story? Is it up there with retinol and vitamin C? I don’t think so, yet that doesn’t mean it’s without benefits. But first, let’s unpick some of the confusion around CBD and hemp…

If the label says hemp seed oil, that contains little or no CBD, though it’s rich in Omegas 3 and 6, and amino acids to nourish and strengthen the skin. It’s also non-comedogenic so won’t block your pores, unlike coconut oil for example.

CBD comes from the whole plant and is thought to have wider benefits, including anti-inflammatory powers, the ability to reduce sebum production, so helping with acne, and positive effects on lines and dull skin too, thanks to anti-oxidants.

Here we round-up some of the GH beauty team’s favourite CBD and hemp oil containing products.
