Expanded cannabis content offerings highlight MJBizCon – Marijuana Business Daily

Marijuana Business Daily‘s annual MJBizCon – which caters to attendees from more than 75 countries – has extended its scope for the 2019 event with significantly broader program offerings surrounding hemp, marijuana investing, the science of cannabis and more.

The series of events are part of the larger MJBizConWeek, which runs from Dec. 9 to Dec. 13 and includes the first Associations Day on Dec. 10, featuring nonprofits, associations and cannabis industry professionals from around the world.

The official MJBizCon event begins Wednesday and will far surpass last year’s record numbers for attendance and exhibitors as it keeps pace with the exponential growth of the cannabis industry.

Roughly 35,000 marijuana industry executives, investors and entrepreneurs are planning to attend the three-day show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, up from 27,000 in 2018. The expo hall will house 1,300-plus exhibitors, an increase from 1,028 last year.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on sessions to learn from industry experts on a wide range of cannabis business topics, including:

  • What’s next in emerging cannabis markets Illinois, Michigan and the Midwest.
  • Maintaining quality while scaling your cannabis extraction operation.
  • Tips and tricks for lowering your company’s tax bill.
  • Understanding the competitive landscape of ancillary services.
  • Importing and exporting cannabis today and in the future.

This is the eighth year Marijuana Business Daily has hosted the conference.

Among the 35,000 attendees, the event boasts more than 8,000 executives, 1,500 CEOs and 1,250 investors.

MJBizCon 2018 ranked as the fastest-growing trade show in the United States for the fourth year in a row, according to Trade Show Executive.

The more than 1,300 expo hall exhibitors are spread out over 250,000 square feet of floor space, up from 175,000 square feet last year.

“As always, MJBizCon is showcasing what the cannabis industry has become,” said Cassandra Farrington, co-founder and board chair at Marijuana Business Daily.

“A global industry encompassing hemp, medical products, adult-use cannabis, cutting-edge science, deeply invested financiers and more – industry segments and participants which easily fill the full week of networking, showcases and educational content underway in Las Vegas this week.”

Every sector of the industry is represented at the conference, including retailers, growers, financial services, equipment manufacturers, packaging and labeling and infused product makers.

The conference also includes keynote addresses by:

  • Chris Walsh, president and incoming CEO, Marijuana Business Daily.
  • Marc Randolph, founding CEO of Netflix.
  • Danny Moses, adviser at Merida Capital Partners and founder of Moses Ventures.

MJBizCon Week kicked off Monday with the event’s first two-day Investor Intelligence Conference.

This is also the first year MJBizCon will host an industry awards show. Among those to be honored during the Dec. 12 event are cannabis industry pioneers Steve DeAngelo and Wanda James, who are the inaugural inductees into the MJBizDaily Awards Hall of Fame.
