JANESVILLE – A Beloit man faces a felony marijuana possession charge following a traffic stop on Dec. 28 on Milton Avenue in Janesville, according to a criminal complaint filed in Rock County Circuit Court.
Kyle M. Hereford Jr., 20, is charged with possession with intent to deliver THC after officers recovered 332.5 grams (11.7 ounces) of marijuana and THC vape cartridges from a backpack during a vehicle search.
During his interview with police, Hereford allegedly told officers that he received the marijuana from dispensaries in Illinois. The legal use of marijuana by adults does not go into effect until Jan. 1.
„(Hereford) said he was special and they were already giving the marijuana to him before dispensaries were opened,” the complaint said.
