There’s now coffee, tea and CBD with the opening of a new Rodkeys location on San Antonio’s Northwest Side. The business was giving away free drink samples on Monday for training purposes during its first official day of business.
Located on Huebner Road about a mile west of Interstate 10, connected to the Alamo Biscuit Co., the new Rodkeys features a lineup of hot 12-ounce coffees served six ways and an assortment of 16-ounce cold beverages. Customers also can get six different types of teas.
The coffees and teas are sourced by James Mireles, owner of Pulp Coffee Roasters on the near East Side.
What separates Rodkeys from most other coffee shops in the area is that all drinks come with the option of adding a 10-milligram boost of liquid CBD, a legal product extracted from the hemp plant, for an additional $3. There are also two types of bagged to-go coffees infused with CBD.

“Up here in this part of town, we have proximity to the UTSA campu,s and there aren’t a lot of options for CBD-infused drinks,” said Rodkeys partner John Vale. “I drink coffee every day, so the fact that I can walk a few feet and get the CBD option is a bonus for me.”
Mireles said that additional coffees from his Pulp line will become available within the next week or so, and further menu items will be added in the future.
The original Rodkeys, named after owner Charles Rodkey, opened in 2019 at 2602 N. Loop 1604 W. at Bitters Road. It remains in business, but does not have coffee service. Both locations feature a large lineup of hemp-based creams, lotions, oils and edibles.
Rodkeys, 9630 Huebner Road. Hours: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Online: rodkeys.com
