Seekonk Traffic Stop Yields 13 Ounces of Cannabis – wbsm.com

Seekonk police say they seized 13 ounces of marijuana after a traffic stop Monday night.

At around 6:40 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for defective equipment on Fall River Avenue near the Seekonk Grand Prix, a police department spokesperson said. Officer Constantino Natale subsequently discovered that the operator was driving under a suspended license. A search of the vehicle yielded an illegal amount of marijuana, packaging materials, and cash.

The suspect’s name was not immediately available, but the spokesperson said the individual was charged with operating with a suspended license and possession with intent to distribute.

Marijuana is legal in Massachusetts, but a person may only possess up to one ounce of cannabis in public at any one time.
