Colorado’s NewAge Beverage Corp has launched CBD beverage Noni+CBD in Japan.
Noni+CBD will roll out across the country through around 50,000 outlets, NewAge said late last week. According to the company, the drink, which contains 25mg of CBD in a 5cl shot, is the first CBD drink from a major company to gain approval from Japanese food safety authorities.
NewAge said it gained approval because tests could prove the drink contained zero THC.
„The idea of a CBD drink is brand new to Japan, and NewAge is first,” said company COO David Vanderveen. „Consumers love the idea of mindfulness in a bottle and the experience – the aroma, the taste and effect all deliver on the promise.”
Vanderveen was appointed COO at NewAge in January. He was the founder & CEO of XS Energy, a portfolio of energy drinks and sports nutrition products that he sold to Amway in 2015.
