CBD panel set for Furniture Today Bedding Conference – Furniture Today

HIGH POINT — The Furniture Today Bedding Conference will feature a panel discussion on an emerging product category: CBD bedding products.

About half a dozen bedding and sleep accessories producers offered CBD products at the Las Vegas Market earlier this year, and many in the industry expect that number to grow.

CBD panelists at the Bedding Conference, set for May 13-15 at the Omni Orlando Resort at Championsgate, Fla., will talk about growth prospects for the category.

The panelists include Shane Mutter, national sales and marketing director of Seed2System, a CBD supplier; Susan Mathes, vice president of brand relations for Therapedic, the first Top 10 bedding producer to offer a CBD mattress line; and Scott Carr, marketing director for Malouf, which has introduced a CBD pillow line.

Prior to his time in the hemp industry, Mutter was president and CEO of his family’s 80-plus-year-old home furnishings business on the outskirts of the French Quarter of New Orleans, Doerr Furniture.

“As a former executive in the home furnishings industry, I am drawing on that experience to introduce hemp products and services to this category as well as many others,” Mutter said. “I see growth in the hemp industry reaching exponential numbers in the coming years, and I want to take the lead in becoming an educational resource to consumers as well as others interested in joining this industry.”
