CBD, cigarettes and cash: Manchester police bust commercial burglary ring responsible for $100,000 of stolen goods – Asbury Park Press

After a three-month investigation, two people have been arrested and one is still at large for allegedly being involved in a commercial burglary ring that operated in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is responsible for around $100,000 of stolen items, police said.

Craig Orler, 43, of Manchester, James Bendyna, 49, and Roy Bowman, 52, both of Philadelphia, have been charged in connection with numerous commercial burglaries throughout the Ocean County area, according to a news release sent out by the Manchester Township Police Department.

Orler has been charged with multiple money laundering charges, being the leader of an organized retail theft enterprise, burglary, theft, criminal mischief, eluding police, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to the release.

Bendyna and Bowman both face multiple charges for burglary, theft and criminal mischief, according to the release.

Bendyna was arrested without incident Wednesday, according to the release.

Before being arrested, Orler allegedly led police on a car chase before driving his 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck into a small body of water on the Heritage Minerals property off of Northampton Boulevard on the border of Manchester and Toms River, according to police.

Orler then ran from his car into a wooded property but was later arrested in Manchester after a public tip, according to the release.

Bowman has not yet been apprehended and is believed to be in the Philadelphia area, according to the release.

Over three months, the trio stole a variety of items, including vehicles, trailers, outdoor power equipment, cartons of cigarettes, CBD products, and cash with a combined value of around $100,000, according to the release.

An investigation into the thefts led police to identify Orler, Bendyna and Bowman as suspects. Police then watched Orler for several weeks, which allowed them to identify two storage units and two vehicles between New Jersey and Pennsylvania that were used to store the alleged stolen items, according to the release.

During the surveillance, police also said they observed Orler purchase four all-terrain vehicles worth tens of thousands of dollars with „proceeds derived from this criminal enterprise.”

Investigators executed seven search warrants between New Jersey and Pennsylvania Wednesday, which resulted in the recovery of a „large quantity of the stolen proceeds, and further evidence suggesting an even larger involvement by Orler in this criminal enterprise,” according to the release.

Police also seized „numerous assets, including the four all-terrain vehicles,” according to the release.
