Coffee is life. Some people like it strong and smooth, whereas others prefer it mild with cream and sugar. Whatever the case, one thing is certain — if you are a coffee fanatic like us, then you will be excited to hear about the latest trend in Tokyo, Japan. Yes, we are referring to CBD Coffee!
For the past few years, Japan has seen independent coffee roasters popping up all over the capital, including fancy cafes offering coffee lovers impressive-looking latte art. Yet, Tokyo has taken the coffee business to another level.
Just recently, a CBD coffee shop was opened in Komaba — a neighborhood located in the Meguro ward. According to sources, this coffee shop claims to be the very first of its kind that serves customers coffee infused with cannabidiol. To recap, CBD or cannabidiol is an active ingredient derived from the hemp plant that does not make you “high.” Instead, CBD can actually help relieve pain, anxiety, and manage stress.
When the business took off in 2018, CBD Coffee offered customers products such as smoothies, teas, and CBD oil-infused coffee only through UberEats delivery. However, to everyone’s delight, in 2020, CBD Coffee opened its very first physical shop in Tokyo!
At CBD Coffee, customers can try out a wide array of coffee drinks (prices start from just ¥400, or $3.80), as well as CBD veggies and fruit smoothies. Additionally, customers can purchase a bottle of quality CBD oil in CBD Coffee too! The cafe can be found at 2-1-7 Komaba, Meguro, and is open from 8 AM to 4 PM.
