SAN ANGELO — An Oregon man has been arrested after a traffic stop revealed 16 pounds of marijuana on Monday, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
About 10:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, DPS troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet pickup heading southbound on U.S. 87. Troopers smelled marijuana, which prompted a probable cause search, according to the release.
The search revealed 360 grams of THC edible candies and 16 pounds of marijuana hidden throughout the pickup, according to the release.
Online judicial records state Joseph Daniel Valadez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and delivery of marijuana. He remained in Tom Green County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond as of 4:45 a.m. Tuesday.
