A girl, 17, called a friend around 11 p.m. May 22 and said she was at another friend’s house and was not feeling well. Her friend contacted police and a welfare check was performed. It was learned the girl and man, 18, had been vaping with THC. The girl was subsequently released to her parents and no charges were filed.

Harassing communication: SOM Center Road

A representative of a condo association reported May 18 that an anonymous email was received complaining about how the association is managed. Officers determined there were no threats in the email and advised the woman to file a report if the matter escalated.

Disturbance: Derby Drive

An anonymous caller reported at 8:07 p.m. May 18 that he was trying to put his kids to sleep, and a neighbor was working on driveway repairs. Officers spoke to the neighbor and confirmed he would be finished working by 9 p.m. when the noise ordinance went into effect.

Theft: SOM Center Road

CVS management reported May 19 that a man was found to have stolen a bottle of wine from the store. The theft of the $20 item was discovered when surveillance video was being reviewed. The suspect is unknown but believed to be a repeat offender at the store.

Disturbance: Wilson Mills Road

Officers responded to Austin’s Steakhouse May 19 for a report of three customers causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Those involved had left prior to the arrival of police. The staff said the customers were not welcome back at the business, but they did not have contact information to advise them.

Theft: Wilson Mills Road

A boy, 16, discovered his bike had been stolen from a bike rack at the front entrance of the high school May 20. He said it was left unlocked and unattended for about one hour. The school’s resource officer is investigating.

Assist other agency: SOM Center Road

Rangers from the Metroparks said May 21 that they investigated a report of shots fired but believed it may have come from the area of St. Bartholomew’s Church. Officers checked the area and spoke to some residents and everything checked OK.
