Deputies arrest 2 people at cannabis grow site, hash oil lab in Bonsall – The San Diego Union-Tribune

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people and seized hundreds of pounds of cannabis and cannabis products Thursday while raiding an allegedly unlawful grow operation in Bonsall.

Deputies from the department’s Fallbrook crime suppression team and detectives from the department’s marijuana enforcement team served the search warrant about 7 a.m. at the property on North River Road a little west of state Route 76, according to Deputy Lester Garman.

Sheriff’s personnel arrested the two suspects on felony charges related to an active investigation of the grow site and booked them into county jail. Their names were not released.

Deputies also seized 550 pounds of processed cannabis, 11 pounds of concentrated cannabis and 17 pounds of THC-infused edibles, Garman said. The investigators also seized over 200 fentanyl pills, 40 ecstasy pills, $7,128 in cash and three firearms, one of which was reported stolen.

Authorities also found a butane hash oil lab and “numerous hazardous materials,” which were recovered by hazmat teams.

Hash oil — also known as honey oil, and often consumed in e-cigarettes and edible cannabis products such as cookies — is extracted from marijuana plants with the use of butane. The highly flammable gas makes the process dangerous, authorities say.
