TOOELE — Two people were arrested in Tooele County on Tuesday after troopers found a variety of marijuana and THC products in their vehicle, including more than 100 pounds of marijuana.

Jacqueline Loxley, 55, and Stephen Jaycox, 69, were booked into the Tooele County Jail for investigation of possessing 100 pounds or more of marijuana, drug possession with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper noticed a vehicle on I-80 making several driving infractions. As the trooper, who was ahead of the vehicle, slowed down to get next to it, the driver, Loxley, „slowed down dramatically and would not pass my marked patrol car” and then exited the freeway at 5600 West, according to a police booking affidavit.

Loxley then quickly pulled into a gas station but the trooper got off the freeway and followed.

After making contact with Loxley and suspecting there might be drugs in her vehicle, the trooper was given permission to search the car, the affidavit says.

„A total of 1,189 THC vape cartridges, 16 ounces of THC wax, 400 psilocybin chocolate bars, 1 pound of raw psilocybin mushrooms, 155 pounds of raw marijuana in vacuum sealed packages and 4600 grams of THC edibles” were found, according to the affidavit.

When questioned, Loxley „explained work and money is slow at the current time,” the trooper wrote in the affidavit.

CEDAR CITY — Three men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and other charges following a recent traffic stop on Interstate 15 north of Cedar City.

Eric Dabell, 27, William Drown, 22, and Trevor St. Andre, 23, each were booked into Iron County Jail on Oct. 20 after Utah Highway Patrol troopers reportedly found 2,700 THC vape cartridges, drugs and paraphernalia inside their vehicle.

According to the probable cause statements filed in support of their arrests, a UHP trooper observed a white sedan traveling slowly in the right lane of northbound I-15 near mile marker 63.

“I saw the back passenger moving about the back seat freely and it appeared he was not wearing his seat belt,” the trooper wrote in the affidavit. “I pulled alongside the car and saw that the back passenger was now laying down across the back seat with no seat belt on.”

The trooper then initiated a traffic stop near mile marker 70. The trooper wrote that he could immediately smell the odor of marijuana as he approached the car.

None of the three men had a valid medical marijuana card in their possession, the trooper noted.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded large boxes in the trunk filled with 2,700 vape cartridges, along with related products and supplies. Troopers also found an unspecified quantity of bud marijuana and an unlabeled pill bottle containing multiple types of amphetamine pills.
