Edible Arrangements is the latest company to jump into the cannabis industry with CBD edibles in some of its products. The company launched a new line of CBD infused treats as part of its chocolate dipped strawberry and other candy product lines. But before you get excited that the company is offering a loophole in the federal system, remember that CBD won’t get you high.
When Edible Arrangements launched its line of CBD infused treats—called “Incredible Edibles” back in November—they were only available in Dallas stores. The company, however, aims to expand its availability throughout the country to offer the products in more than 200 stores, all by the end of 2019. Some states with stricter laws around cannabis, though, may not see the treats show up immediately.
Products within the “Incredible Edibles” line include things like chocolate dipped fruits and berries, as well as other foods like baked treats and even smoothies, are available for pick up in certain stores. Since they’re CBD only, the products won’t get you high—just relax you. The substance has been found to help with things like insomnia and pain, depending on how it’s ingested or applied. In edible products, CBD will help you unwind after a long day or simply feel less stressed about your unread emails.
Edible Arrangements Pledges To Use Sustainable CBD
The biggest controversy surrounding CBD is that it isn’t always sourced from sustainable farms, and the lack of regulation over the product means that many products can be marketed as CBD when, in fact, they contain hemp. Edible Arrangements’ products aim to remove any negativity toward CBD by using only sustainably sourced products from farms that operate according to regulation in the United States.
‘Consumers are showing an increasing demand for CBD products, and now is the perfect time for us to make our mark on this flourishing industry,” said the founder of Edible Arrangements, Tariq Farid, in a press release.
The company also assures that its CBD contains no pesticides or additives, since that is often a concern among consumers that prefer to avoid chemically enhanced or treated products. Since the company’s advertising campaign for the product embraces “health, not high,” the products have to be high quality. Prices on the Incredible Edible products from Edible Arrangements are fair, too. A cup of CBD-infused chocolate dipped strawberries is under $10, and a smoothie is only around $6, but the products have to be picked up in-store at participating locations.
