Vaporizer has charging dock, long battery life – The Leaf Online

Toronto-based TOQi has launched the first wireless charging cannabis vaporizer, the TOQi 510. As the name implies, the TOQi 510 is compatible with most 510 thread cartridges and has twice the battery life of similar sized vapes, with a 400mAh battery.

The Qi-equipped TOQi was designed to have the powertrain of a mobile phone built into a vape device, with a USB-C port and quick wireless charging, the TOQi reaches 85 percent power in 20 minutes.

CEO and founder Drew Henson is a lifelong cannabis user and was previously the CEO of a personal safety wearable startup, and the chief design officer for an action camera brand. Henson designed the TOQi initially to address his own needs in a vape.

Wanted to use and lose fewer cords

“When I started using vape pens,” said Henson, “they’d die whenever I’d need it and I kept losing the charger. I wanted to be able to put my device down and have it charged while it wasn’t in use but without having to find a plug or cord, and I wanted to be able to use the cord I use for everything else in case I lost it.

“What seemed obvious — having a USB-C port, for example — was not standard in the industry yet.”

Created to eliminate the need for charging cords, TOQi 510 can charge wirelessly on any Qi-equipped product like the Samsung Galaxy Note10 or TOQI’s Wireless Charging Pad. The MSRP for the TOQi 510 is $79.95, with accessories of the TOQi Wireless Charging Pad at $19.95 and the TOQi Wireless Power Bank at $29.95.

The TOQi 510 is available now at mytoqi.com and will hit retail outlets throughout Canada and the U.S. in the coming months.
